Meet Marcela!
We’re excited to introduce our Giving Project Intern, Marcela Onate-Trules. Marcela is providing support for programmatic & development activities associated with running our grant-making, grant-writing, foundation, individual, and corporate fundraising.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not interning at Chinook Fund?
A: When I’m not interning with Chinook fund I love to cook different food, and share meals and time with people I love.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
A: If I could have dinner with anyone dead or alive it would be my Grandmother. Roz passed away when I was 3, so I never got to know her. From what I do know of her, she had a passion for justice, peace, and equity-advancing work, so I would like to hear about her life experiences, travels, and experience with womanhood in the 1900s.
Q: Where do you go to school and what are you majoring in?
A: I am an incoming senior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. I major in Sociology and minor in Southwest Studies
Q: What was the last book you read?
A: I just finished reading the New Jim Crow. I would highly recommend.
Q: What do you like most about Colorado?
A: The sunshine! I love that in January it can be 20 degrees but still sunny. It brings brightness and happiness into my life.
