Mission: In 2019, “The Black Men’s Project,” was started by Another Life Foundation to equip the marginalized group of men of color, with mental wellness strategies and coping skills to help break the stigma of asking for help. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “Suicide was the 16th leading cause of death for Blacks of all ages and the 3rd leading cause of death for young Black males ages 15–24.” We exist to help change this statistic. Our vision is a world without stigma, and greater opportunities to achieve mental wellness. Our focus is on using a culturally competent approach and involving diverse community leaders to communicate the importance of mental wellness in the Black/African American community. Our mission is to build a culture of mental wellness among men and boys of color through promoting advocacy, also building and organizing a movement.
