117 formerly incarcerated people have been registered to vote in mid-term elections, bond or other issues that more immediately impact the communities of which they are a part.
Co-hosted the 9th Annual Freedom Conference at Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library on August 15, 2014, with the result of near 100 people received free health screening and education on skill and leadership building.
Hosted 2 community forums with the result of over 100 community members was educated on the issues of sentencing reform and the need for community involvement.
Somali American Community Center:
Location: Aurora, CO
Conducted a Women’s Empowerment Program, with the result of over 250 women in the Somali community got educational training on the knowledge of breast and cervical cancer, sewing, ESL, computer literacy, early childhood education, and hospitality.
Helped over 60 men in the community to get access to health insurance.
Convened a Section 8 Lottery Clinic in September to actively register this community for the Section 8 Subsidized Housing Lottery for Denver County. It helped about 50 community members to Leverage their Income.
