Another World is Possible Fund is supporting Slam Nuba in sustaining its community members and artists through the pandemic and increased disenfranchisement that their members are experiencing. BIPOC members are dispersed throughout Metro Denver, with Slam Nuba being one of the few meeting grounds where BIPOC could share stories and feel communal validation. In the pandemic parents and members with children have not been able to join in programming because of remote learning. The cost to shift programming online has gone up significantly, funding will support in the transition as well as the creation of more analog forms of community such as a Youth Zine and Don’t Shoot Zine to continue sustaining a community of storytelling.
