Mission: Mo Betta Green is a Black woman-owned, community-rooted organization cultivating food sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and collective well-being in Northeast Denver. Our mission is to create thriving spaces where residents reconnect with the earth, nourish their bodies and minds, and build local economies rooted in justice and equity. We do this through urban farming, farmers markets, community education, and cultural events that center Black and Brown leadership and heritage.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that health is wealth. We grow heirloom, organic produce at our three farm sites—Seeds of Power Unity Farm, Blue Bear Farm, and the Secret Garden—and distribute food through weekly farmers markets in Five Points. Our markets serve as hubs for local farmers, vendors, artists, and healers to share their gifts while creating economic pathways for youth and community members.
We are also committed to developing the next generation of leaders. Youth employment programs provide career pathways in food systems, farming, and entrepreneurship. Our collaborations with organizations like Lincoln Hills Cares, Outer Haven, and Fortaleza Familiar ensure that young people—especially BIPOC youth—gain meaningful work experience, leadership skills, and community connections.
Through farm dinners, wellness classes, and cultural celebrations like Juneteenth Freedom Day, Mo Betta Green uplifts healing, joy, and solidarity. By grounding our work in racial, environmental, and economic justice, we embody a holistic approach to systems change. Our way of serving the community is itself the solution: growing food, growing leaders, and growing sovereignty.
