Another World is Possible Fund supports Colorado People’s Alliance (COPA) with general operating assistance to continue their mission and work in Colorado. COPA is a racial justice, member-led organization dedicated to advancing and winning progressive social change locally, statewide, and nationally. COVID-19 has laid bare the vast inequities that plague the country and this state. We are witnessing the consequences of systems that for years have left communities of color behind, specifically Black and Brown communities. COPA understands this is a systemic issue and that far too often impacts Black, Brown, Native and Asian communities the most. COVID-19 is no exception. This is a vital moment to invest in organizing and to invest in organizations that organize with those most impacted by this crisis and years of structural oppression. This is the moment to invest in organizing and to invest in organizations that are committed to working with communities to find long term solutions that will ensure communities of color are not left behind.
“Our members have been impacted physically, emotionally, and financially during this time. In addition to assisting our members navigate and build power through a global crisis, COPA’s work in economic and immigrant justice is more crucial than ever to push for adequate assistance and radical change from our leaders at the state and federal level. As we adjust and develop new ways to operate, this grant from Another World is Possible Fund will ensure our ability to further work with our community so that every Coloradan has the ability to thrive, not just survive.”
