Inequality is the sharpest it’s been in over 100 years in the United States, and it is only getting worse. Our communities are facing the militarization of their police forces, and many are getting caught up in detention and incarceration or deportation. This state of affairs is deeper than just the issues – it is the result of a massive imbalance of power at the national, state and local level.
RAP is about civic engagement and community. They partner with allies in statewide efforts to beat back harmful anti-immigrant legislation and to help pass pro-active legislation to make positive change in Colorado for immigrants and other communities in the Denver Metro area. In recent years, RAP has worked closely with politicians like Senator Gardner, Senator Bennet, and Governor Hickenlooper as well as local police departments to promote policies that are friendly to immigrant communities both at a state and local level. RAP’s mission is to bring the voices of immigrant leaders and their allies to the struggle for equality, mutual respect, and justice in the metro Denver area through education, community, organizing, and successful campaigns.
