Mission: The Denver Metro Tenants Union (DMTU) builds the capacity of low-income tenant communities to win material changes where we live, while drawing connections between these immediate problems and the systemic contexts in which they are rooted. We shift power in favor of tenants who are systemically disenfranchised at the intersections of race, class, gender, disability, and immigration status. Tenants most harmed by housing injustice lead DMTU, and we believe that the power we build is composed of our relationships with one another. By bringing tenants together in an organization that belongs to them, DMTU serves as a vehicle for the civic power needed to win structural change.
